Review: Skin Genie Lip and Cheek Stain Alive
Hey, beauties! It's been quite a while since my last blog post due to some personal matter. A lot happened last year and these past few months, but I think all is well and we should move on I'm now back to give everyone some of the things and experiences that are worth sharing.
Okay, last time, I was actually looking for a cheap but buildable lip tint and a perfect alternative to expensive lip tint products. So I head over to beautymnl.com to search and view some lip tint stuff. I scanned through all of the different tint products available and to be honest I struggled searching with overwhelming affordable lip tints on the site.
I was about to give up when I saw something very cheap and different. I became curious so I read all the product reviews before making any purchase. I also had trouble finding the right shades for me so I just bought one shade and decided to just buy the other shades next time if it works for me.
So without further ado…
So without further ado…

Lip and Cheek Stain Alive make your lip and cheek comes alive! It is packed with moisturizing ingredients that nourish, soothe, and protect your lip and cheek with gorgeous colors. Sweetly scented and easy to apply.
Product Unit Size: 10mL
Price: 80.00 Pesos
Packaging:
Since it is cheap, do not expect too much with the packaging but considering the price, the product presentation is quite decent. It comes in a small acrylic tube with a roller ball as an applicator. The name of the product and other details are printed on the cylindrical tube while the shade name is printed on the base.
What I love about the packaging is the expiration date printed on the side of the box something that other lip products don't have.
Lip and Cheek Stain alive comes in 13 shades but I bought only one shade which is "Merlot" because it sparked my interest.
So now…let's go to the real deal.

Product Swatch
I did a quick swatch on my wrist
I also blended the tint onto my lips using my finger hoping that I will achieve a sheer finish.
In case you were wondering why I didn’t put the tint on my cheeks, probably because I have a very sensitive skin, especially on my face.
Staying Power
It lasted more than 3 hours without eating and drinking.
Pros and Cons
Pros: Other than its very affordable price, I love the fact that Lip and Cheek Stain Alive smells really good. It's definitely sweet, it tastes more like candy. Aside from that, there are a lot of shades to choose from which makes it perfect for students who love wearing a different kinds of shades.
Cons: Unfortunately, it does not offer any pigmentation or maybe the lip tint is not really concentrated. It does not offer a true color payoff. I had to apply a generous amount of formula or layer it up to get the deep color on my lips but after that, I do not feel happy because the result is so different as compared to the swatches they posted.
Another con is that you need to shake the bottle to soak the applicator with formula before use and contrary to its product description; it’s more watery than gel. It is runny and it doesn't really go well if you have plump lips like me. After using the lip tint, my lips became patchy and my lip lines got emphasized, not to mention, the tint kept getting on my teeth.
Would I repurchase this product?
No, without any doubt! Why? Okay, it was actually my first time buying this kind of lip tint considering its price and variety of shades; the product is not really bad, however, I am a bit disappointed because the formula is not very buildable for it dries quickly and worst, it causes dryness and cracking of lips. Reapplication to get a more intense or deep color can also cause lip soreness.
Not only did I have applied a lip therapy balm to moisturize my lips before using the lip tint, but I also exfoliate my lips to be sure that I get a more sheer and buildable finish, but, my lips really had a hard time coping.
Would I recommend it?
If you're looking for an affordable and decent lip tint formula in a variety of shades to choose from, I do recommend giving this Lip and Cheek tint a try :)
