Review: MERZY Bite The Beat Melow Tints

June 07, 2020 0 Comments A+ a-

I've been loving lip tints as they are more convenient to use and easy to bring. It's perfect for everyday use especially when you don't need to glam up yourself and want to look more natural.

A few weeks back, during enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), I hunted up some makeup looks, and I bumped into this random IG TV post of popular vlogger Ms. Raiza Contawi. She was showing her new makeup tutorial using her new favorite bite the beat melow tints by Merzy. 'MERZY' means 'Another me inside of me' and 'Merge implying that the other me and I are combined.

And since I'm a lip tint junkie, who is always looking for a lip tint product that would make lips look better, I already go gaga into purchasing at least (3) colors of Bite the Beat Melow Tints to try on.

So for today's blog, I'm going to share my honest review of Bite Bite the Beat Melow Tints.

Product Details

Weight: 4g
Price: 450.00

Origin: Korea

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Water, Glycerin, CI 77491, Cyclopentasiloxane, etc.

The outer color of the bottle is the same as the shade inside.
It comes with a flat doe foot applicator allows for easy application.

Here are the Swatches (My favorite part)

Instruction:

Apply on the entire lips along the lip line or on the center of the lips in a tapping motion to express gradation.

M1 Mahogani is a stunning red brown. This color has a smooth, creamy consistency and whipped texture.

While M3 Spice Brick is so gorg orange brick but little more coral on my lips. The initial application is patchy but it doesn't dry out my lips. I love the texture of this color. It makes my lips feel as if it's bare.

Ugh! M4 Brian Rose is a dark rose but more like a juicy berry color. For me, this is a must-have color. It's blendable and a little goes a long way.

Review

Pros
  • Very smooth and easy to apply.
  • It has a velvety feeling and goes on very smoothly.
  • Even with dry lips, this lip product still makes my lips look good.
  • The color is very pigmented so it does leave a nice tint on the lips
  • It looks matte but is not drying at all.

Cons
  • You will have to reapply it, they aren’t super long-lasting but they wear so well.
  • The size of the product is a bit smaller than I thought
  • It requires blending using a lip brush or finger but that's not really a big deal

Would I recommend it?

Yes, I’d highly recommend these Bite The Beat Melow Tints. It's a bit pricey for a makeup product but for those of you who like soft, pigmented, and moisturizing lip tints, it may be worth a try!

Review: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip Lumiere 2

March 25, 2020 0 Comments A+ a-

A friend gifted me a bag containing an Ultra Matte Lip Lumiere 2 and diet cookies (I’m sorry, the pack of cookies has already been eaten). Usually, I wear lipstick color that I want for my own benefit and I actually love wearing nude colors for my lips that’s why I never felt compelled to try it.

I had never tried dusty mauve color lipstick like Lumiere 2. As mentioned, I’m a fan of nude colors.
So, when I tried it, I was not totally into it but it made me feel like there is nothing wrong in trying out something new.
Here’s what Lumiere 2 looks like:
and here’s a swatch of my skin tone.

It comes with a box of course

My thoughts:
Pros
Ultra Matte Lip Lumiere 2 has good packaging, and consistency has no weird smell,  so easy to apply, and delivers a full-coverage pigment-rich color. It lasts for hours without any rub-off.
Cons
My only critique really is that it can not be removed easily. Just like any other matte lipstick, Ultra Matte Lip Lumiere 2 requires a little effort to get the color out of your lips.
Recommendation ðŸ™‚
Make sure to moisturize your lips before applying this type of matte lipstick because it makes your lips look dry and uneven.
How to moisturize your lips?
  • Grab a soft toothbrush
  • Rinse and dry your lips
  • Apply a lip balm to get the dead skin off.
  • Soothe the skin with a gentle massage
Verdict:
To be honest, the deep dusty mauve shade of Ultra Matte Lip Lumiere 2 is a wearable color but it is more matronly for me and one that I will definitely not wear often. This type of color is ideal for a face with minimal makeup.

Review: Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipsticks

February 14, 2020 0 Comments A+ a-

I hope everyone is doing well and having a great day. Okay, lately, I've been overthinking a lot of stuff. I wasn't feeling motivated and I get stressed when things get out of perspective. I have not been performing activities that i'm interested in. But I guess that's just part of our everyday life. We will always have ups and downs. Right? I thought maybe blogging something would stop me from overthinking about everything.

So for today's post, I'm here to share my honest review on Sunnies Face Super Hype The Fluffmatte collection. Actually, this is my first time to use and give a review of this brand and I'd like to say thank you my dearest friend, Kris, for giving me these lipsticks last Christmas.

This post is a bit late considering this was released 5 months ago. Am not sure. But I hope to give you an idea of how Sunnies Fluffmattes perform.

Product details

Claims: According to Sunnies Face, Fluffmatte is a weightless modern matte lipstick formulated with a silk-structure technology to give you that second skin feel. Each shade is designed to be universally flattering and easy to apply with one quick swipe. Sunnies face also claim that these shades are perfect for Filipina Skin tone.

How much: Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lisptick is a good lipstick at Php 345.00. Yes, it's a bit pricey than any of their other lip products but it sold out quickly.

Where to Buy: Sunnies Face website, Shoppee, Lazada, and Beauty MNL

Swatches:

Packaging:

This is how the packaging looks like. I can say that the presentation looks expensive and not cheap. I'm also drawn to the simple line drawing of a face on the side of the box. It's so cute!

The shade is written on top of the box. I find it handy since you can directly see which color the lipstick is. Also, the color of the box  matches the lipstick shade that goes with it.

On the other side of the box is a lipstick description, and the list of ingredients plus the expiry date.

Fluffmatte Lisptick has nice off-white packaging. At the bottom of the casing, you’ll find the lipstick shade and how many grams you’re getting per product (3.2 g).

Shades

Girl Crush

This shade looks really nice. It works amazingly well on my lips. This is a bright-colored terracotta rose but sometimes it looks bloody orange when applied on the lips.

Milk Tea

This is a warm-beige shade perfectly fit for morena skin with warm undertones. I would recommend using this for woke-up-like-this makeup.

Mood

The least I use among the shades. Mood is definitely not a cup of my tea, simply because, it doesn't quite fit my mood and it is a pale muted violet color with a slightly pinkish hue.

Nudist

This shade is I think the best go-to-nude for fair to medium skin tones and good for everyday use.

Review

Pros

Packaging is simple and sturdy

The powdery, and almost mousse-like formula allows for buildable sheer to full coverage. I had absolutely no trouble applying it to my lips

Its highly pigmented formula glides onto your lips smoothly and feels lightweight.

Most shades are good for on the go and everyday use.

Not drying on the lips. It doesn't emphasize my dry and cracked lips as much as liquid matte lipsticks do.

The shades fit morena ladies very well.

Cons

Too pricey and overhyped.

Not long-lasting

It fades too easily when eating or drinking.

Final Thoughts?

Overall, the product does what it claims to - has a soft matte finish, the color selection is beautiful and super easy to apply. I would say, this is a pretty decent matte lipstick and I do hope they release even more shades.

However, the only negative I would say about this product is its price. Too pricey. I understand that Sunnies products are quite expensive but many of us don't always have the budget for expensive lip products. I would buy this because the shades are flattering but I might choose to purchase other affordable cream-textured lipsticks that offer a stunning color with a matte finish.

Review: SYLENANDA 3CE Velvet Lip Tint

January 02, 2020 0 Comments A+ a-

So today, I will be putting the StyleNanda 3CE collection  Velvet Lip Tint in the spotlight, probably one of the most well-known and trendy beauty Lip tints.

Hello, Friends! It feels really good to be back after long hiatus. I’ve been so busy with my work and other priorities and I haven't had the chance to do what I really love to do.  This time, I promise to focus on working on my passion which is writing, and at the same time produce more blog contents that will help my readers find genuine happiness and inspiration in small things with great value.

Last Year, my friend Kristina gifted me four shades of 3CE Velvet Lip tints (Daffodil, Near and Dear, New Nude, and Going Right) that I had not yet tried because, honestly, 3CE products are very pricey or hard to get hold of. Needless to say, I enjoyed going through these four shades, trying new things, and finding something new to love.

Without further ado, let's start off with:

Facts

3 Concept Eyes or known as 3CE is a professional makeup brand of the Korean fashion label StyleNanda

Claims

3CE Velvet lip tint delivers a long-lasting soft matte finish to velvet-smooth.

Packaging

The details on the box are written all in the Korean language except for the shade.

Applicator

Just like other Korean brand lip tints, it has a standard doe-foot applicator that is easy to use and gets into the corner of the lips.

Container

The color of the container corresponds to the shade of the tint which is really good for me since it makes it easy for me to pick what I want to use.

Texture

The tint feels really nice on my lips. It has an almost ice cream-like texture due to its creamy finish.

Smell

3CE velvet lipstick tints have OMG herbal/organic scent and flavor. Not so pleasing but manageable.

Colors

#NearandDear, #Daffodil, #NewNude, #GoingRight

Price

950.00 PHP (BeautyMNL)

Swatches

Forgive me, the photo might be a bit blurry but it really gives justice to the colors. Take note, I didn't use any filter here. To really test the product, I didn’t prep my lips before putting it on and the result is pretty much the same with other velvety lip tints, it dries into a matte finish.

Verdict

My initial impression about this product was that it would dry like Peri Pera Airy Ink Velvet. After putting it on my lips, I can honestly say that it has failed to live up to my expectations. Yes, it is smooth on the lips and glides very well; I also like the velvety feel, but unlike Peri Pera Airy Ink velvet, it tends to make my lips more chapped and dry. The lip tint is not hydrating. Nonetheless, I still love it because, out of all the lip tints I have ever tried, this product is pretty worth the price because it gives a perfectly natural finish for fair-skinned and morenas. It fades beautifully, pigmented; the shades are wearable and super lightweight.

Overall, I would recommend this lip tint but you must prepare your lips first with lip balm to achieve a velvet-dreamy finish.
